Dark side

Post by okeefjr »

I ran car tires on my wings for a long time and just wanted to inquire about possibilities on the FJR. Is there a special section on this forum for Darksiders or can anyone point me to some Darksiders. New on this forum and not sure how to navigate.
Thank You for any help

i went dark side 2 years ago while still in fla. not much here on the forum. try googling fjr1300 dark side/car tire/CT. many hits with recentish posts. to search here, or anywhere on the web really, at the end of your search terms type "site:fjriders.com". i went with the michelin exalto. no issues, nice transition, tho i'm only a 6/10ths rider.

f@$k me Running, one of the things I have always liked most about FJRiders.com is that up until right now there was no reference to these Dark Side Car Tires on Bikes Weirdos and Communists! Now we are all going to burn in Hell, dammit!

Just ignore Beemerdons, he's just not getting enough fiber. Gives him a shitty attitude. I've been using an Exalto for 18k, and followed his sorry Irish self all the way to Cabo on one, JSNS.

Yep! And his "going to burn in Hell" already applys to him.

The goofy Mick is already there and the fires of Hell are fueled by not only his bullshit, but also his actual fiber rich shit. ;)

So, to dark side tires come with pre-installed road debris that cause leaks before the mold wax is scuffed off like regular bike tires? Last three bike tires I have installed have had a nail through them with in about 200 miles. Tires should last longer than the oil... Just sayin!

LOL. There was a thread about tire PRESSURE on xs11.comi back in the day. The book says not to run over 34 psi. Most sane people with tires that have technology 30 or so years newer than the bike its self run about 42, you know because of better tread reinforcement materials and such. One asshat posted on there something like "If you run more than the manufacturer's rated pressure you WILL low side and you WILL DIE DIE DIE!!!!!"

Great times.

However, the shrouded truth of my post before was asking if car tires are as prone to nails as the normal bike tires which seem to have magnetized steel belting and attracts every damn nail on the road. Ugh.

Well, so much for getting a car tire. Maybe I'll get a mudder tire from an old Dodge Powerwagon. 8-)

I've been Darksiding for a little while, maybe 7k miles. No nails, screws, welding rods or dildos stuck in it yet.

I use a General G-max, I like it

Since (hopefully) it's coming, the only mod is to replace the rear caliper square tube with a piece of flat bar.
