It was. Been awhile since I road the 14. Damn, I sure like that bike. It's got TMMs and really handles well. Was really pleased with the MSR gear. I needed some better gear. My Olympia stuff is getting long in tooth. I really wanted something waterproof to eliminate the need to add a rain jacket, PITA.

That MSR stuff is nice, but it's been admittedly not good for hot weather. I pinged Dork on his review video about using it in Texas. He said I could probably use it about 2 weeks out of the year.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Agree, not for hot weather use off road, I have mesh gear for that, but wanted some good waterproof stuff for travel. I think the venting will be fine when traveling, and will be nice not having to screw with rain jackets. I like that it's just a shell and you put your layers under as needed. Was really nice and comfy on my ride yesterday. 40 degrees on return home and I was warm with just a base layer and the jacket. The redesigned stuff is more comfortable than the original.gixxerjasen wrote: ↑Thu Feb 08, 2024 10:09 am That MSR stuff is nice, but it's been admittedly not good for hot weather. Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
I've got one season on my MSR jacket. I see they have released an updated version, fixing the elbow pinch point and some other improvements. In hot weather (not Tx hot, but normal hot), the lower sleeve zipper vents are key - those open and the collar hooked back with the loops - and it's not horrible. I plan on adding the matching pants this season.Toter wrote: ↑Thu Feb 08, 2024 11:20 amAgree, not for hot weather use off road, I have mesh gear for that, but wanted some good waterproof stuff for travel. Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
The updates make the jacket more comfortable for sure. Would be nice if they offered a trade-in deal for first adopters. Might be worth the ask. RM ATV is pretty customer focused.extrememarine wrote: ↑Thu Feb 08, 2024 10:20 pmI've got one season on my MSR jacket. Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Changed oil, filter, and FD oil on the 2013 I picked up in November after a nice 200 mile ride. PO told me it had been done recently but hadn't recorded the mileage and was vague on exactly when. Looked fairly clean but now I know mileage and date.

Oil and filter plus FD changed. Ready for some riding as soon as the white crap stops falling. 3 to 6 tonight to tomorrow morning. Hopefully the forecast is wrong.

Removed the nut and bolt keeping my brake pedal working, installed replacement OEM parts. Washed it.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
It has begun (finally).
Pulled fairings and side panels. Disassembled brake pedal (cleaned, lubed, re-assembled), Rotated shifter rubber, and started cleaning / greasing electrical ground spiders.
The brake pedal pivot arm lives in less than optimal conditions unless you only ride when the sun's out. This is one season - 10,000 miles...
Cleaned and polished - ready for grease.
Pivot housing cleaned up.
Slightly worn...
Rotate your rubbers.

About 28 years ago, I had an out patient procedure that, among other important benefits, eliminated the need for me to rotate my rubbers. However for posterity, your advice is duly noted.

Added another FJR to the mix.
Good thing it's low maintenance and fits on a table.

New Roadsmart 3s mounted and balanced. My Angel GT rear takeoff still has some life in it, so it goes back in storage for another time. The front RS3 take-off is down to the wear bars, so to the recycler it goes.
