First semi-retired year, so not sure how much time off I will be able to take...but this is the wishlist:

    Ramble, Toter's TechDay?
    Illinois wedding

    Son#1's UofC MBA graduation,
Big honking trip with Mr. Middlefinger to points north and west, including WFO-the adulterated version, Montana, Idaho, Oregon, and NorCal...with a short side trip to Pullman, WA to visit my oldest brother.

Car trip with Louanne: PA, upstate NY, New England, and Maine.

    EOM-duh

    MO/AR??

    November-
If planets align for this- Plymouth Rock with big George
-if not, Black Friday ride (ie, trying to stay within sight of Lumberg)

Edit: oh yeah, and lots of dayrides...sometimes during the week!

Just kidding...this was just a fake list to make Don jealous. I'm not going anywhere this year lol.

    1. What does semi-retired even mean?
    2. Bobs tech day in April is a pot party? (read it again, and yes that's my first attempt at humor in 2024)

What "semi-retired" means for me, since it's coming from Wheaton, is that either I upgrade the forum server / bandwidth or we will see degraded performance since he'll be posting and refreshing the site every 3.5 seconds...

I spent a couple years smoking weed in 80-81; couple wasted years of my life. I'm not high on weed.

That being said, what yall want to do on your own time I don't give a rip. Just a bad time in my own life. Now I get high on passing 7 cars at a time...so maybe weed is better lol.

Regarding semi-retirement, what I listed was a wish-list. Hopefully, most comes true. I figure I have 5 years max before my short stature and chicken legs say I can't do it anymore. There will be no other bike. This bike is my last one. I plan on using it up...or it using me up.

Semi-retired was a good time, but FULLY retired is better on an order of magnitude that I didn't realize. The curve is most assuredly not linear.

Until I retired, I never fully understood how much the real (work) world tugged on me, even when I was playing away from work (semi-retired). For me, I could leave the office, but the office never fully left me. I've always had an over-sense of responsibility. Being retired is a great work around for this, because now, I don't have any responsibilities....

Looking at an east coast trip, and a west coast trip this year. Got an extra week off from work, so i'll make use of it as much as possible.

Re: east coast, over near Boston, then down to VA Beach, then back up to Marietta for SEOR. But, leaving North MI in April is high risk of freezing my parts off. So that one's maybe flexible. There's 50/50 chance of seeing snow in May up here, so I'm staying fluid on that one. Either way, i'd plan to be down in Marietta for SEOR.

Hopefully, in early July, heading west across us2 , then 20 over/up to Mt Baker. I went across 90 to west coast WA / OR / CA back in '18, and would like to see the mtns in norther roads. Going to the sun road is possible (big possible) on my list, though all across up there looks pretty scenic. I have a buddy that may go along and see his brother in Vancouver, but that's still 'not sure'. Heading back through SD, as that's one state i don't have yet.

EOM is always on my list, so that's a go.

The short version is that, beginning in about 7 weeks, I'm basically booked until November. Some of it is with a motorcycle, some without. Some with family, some with friends, some wih family AND friends, some with neither.

The money dude said "keep going, you're doing fine" and I'm not gonna ask him twice.

I will sleep when I die.

    Stay thirsty, my friends....
