Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Just went through a Darla install and Zumo XT harness hookup on the 15ES. Royal PITA! The Clearwater control unit, two isolation relays, the Zumo XT harness with voltage reducer. Already had battery tender harness and the ABS test switch in there. What a ton of crap to jam in there around the battery! Positapping into the back of that relay was a real joy with my big sausage fingers. I also wonder if there is any way Clearwater could find thinner friggin wires on those relay trigger wires. I tried to make it tidy, and protected, but gave up and just buttoned it back up. It pretty much looks like someone just puked wiring all around the battery. Was going to install a Fuzebloc, but the light controller and relays still have to tie in up front. It all works great, but I've never kluged up wiring like that on anything before.BkerChuck wrote: ↑Wed Dec 13, 2023 2:27 pmThat is a LOT of wiring to hide I agree. I may end up pulling dash panels back off later and revisiting just how I secured it as I'm not completely happy with what I did but......they're on and working so that's a plus.Spininprop wrote: ↑Wed Dec 13, 2023 1:29 pm I guess Clearwater shipped the wrong harness with my Darlas, the highbeam to 100% bright didn't work. Received the replacement harness and works ok. Now to find room for all the wires and get the bike together again.
Ok, rant over. I just wanted to relay my experience.

Got her out for a 50 mile ride today. Had a blast...until I got home and saw my left pannier hanging open...and empty. My FJRiders hat and Lee Parks gloves missing. Apparently I didn't latch it well when taking my heated gloves out and tossing the summer gloves in. Retraced my route and found everything about 1.5 miles (14.645 km) from the house. So a good ride.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Pulled the 07 off the lift after playing around trying to figure out why the heated grips are blinking. (Honda ST1300 heated grips) the grips start blinking anything under 13.2 or 13.4 volts but all is good back at the fuse block so next will be checking my connection up under the tank if I can find it?!?!
Thinking I'll take it out for a ride as we have some clear weather coming Sat & Sun. I can get both bikes out for a good warm up.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
I have Darlas here in the box. Went ahead and got them while they were on sale.
Now just wondering if I should tackle the install alone or wait for help.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Glad you found everything. Same thing happened to me a year or so ago with worse results. Was up on the BRP at Pisgah Inn. Was enjoying a nice conversation with young woman in a convertible mustang and got side tracked from my normal routine. Hmmm wonder why?? Pulled out on the parkway going around the twisties at a good clip and heard scraping Looked back and saw my bag opened with my tool bag pulling it down and the lid was scraping the road as I was in the turns. I was a couples miles from the Inn at that point.CraigRegs wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2023 7:14 pm Got her out for a 50 mile ride today. I pulled over in a mild panic as I had a drone and air compressor in that bag. Looked at the lid and it was torn up pretty bad about 1/4 inch gouges. They love to put that compressed gravel up there. Great for grip but not good for tires and side bags scrapping on it. Most everything was gone so scooted back and luckily found all my stuff on the side of the road. I had my 360 cam running the whole time and saw that as soon as I pulled out of the Inn parking lot the bag flew open and papers were flying out everywhere as people watched but could do nothing as I was out of there. I saw that the other things fell out bounding down the road where I found them. Luckily everything went off the road, was not run over, or picked up. Needless to say I always make sure after every stop that the latches are secure. Yes another he was distracted story yet this time I was not even riding.
