Ain't no such thing as a PR5. There is PR4, R5, and R6, but no PR5. For some reason Michelin decided the new tire didn't belong in the Pilot family.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Ran a few sets of non-GT Road5 on my 2016 FJR. Loved them. Great grip. So far, RSlll seem slower to turn, but not much time with them yet. They are round and black. It is the first time I've ever had a tire balance (front) with no weight. And i checked them...

I have R5s on the MT09 and had R6GTs on the 2013 FJR before I traded it.N4HHE wrote: ↑Sat Sep 02, 2023 2:14 amYou should get a good feel for the difference between BT023GT and RS3. I liked both a lot! Good wet or dry.
But to be far. I haven't rode them past half life. Traded the FJR. The MT09 has a couple thousand on the new tires. Time will tell.
Crazy, I didn't feel like the BT023 was terrible. Just doesn't last long.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Took her for a walk in WV.....again.
Heading there (this is in Virginia)
Things you just don't get to see if you don't leave until 10:30
It was funny, I pulled into an overlook to take the pictures and some guy was there on a BMW GS. Asked me if my bike was a touring bike and asked me where I was riding to today. I said "West Virginia" and his eyes got big and he said "Oh, so it's a couple of days to go and come back?".
I said "No, I'm coming back today".
He said "Oh, I'm from Richmond".
I said "Me too"
I proceeded to tell him a few good spots to ride to in hopes of expanding his horizons. He was looking them up in Google Maps while I was saying them. I should have invited him but I was being selfish today and riding by myself all day.
Nice balmy 53 degrees this morning. Dropped down to 51 at one point. I was starting to get a little chilly but it quickly warmed up into the 70's most of the day, until the ride home, which always sucks, at 85 degrees.
The most people I've ever seen in WV in one day (car wise). A LOT of traffic. I had some wonderful moments and I know there's 2 small groups of riders that might be filling out hurt feelings reports after what I did to them on a mountain.
I had 6-7 hours in state (WV) and I can honestly say that in riding that whole time, with the exception of choking down a burger and filling my bike up, I did not see a single pothole, crack, or patch. It is a phenomenal place to ride.

OK Road 5, just couldn't let that slide huh?
Maybe if they hadn't been setting in the garage for a year I could have remembered.
Sad

Same here. My OE BT023 front was bald at 6200 miles but rear was still good at 10,000. Replaced rear a bit early for some reason I forgot.

I done ya way proud today Wheatie! There are two curves that have passing zones in the curves. It’s crazy but we’ve joked about it a number of times. Who puts dotted lines in a curve? WV does Who is crazy enough to pass there?wheatonFJR wrote: ↑Sat Sep 02, 2023 8:27 pmAttaboy! The most people I've ever seen in WV in one day (car wise). A LOT of traffic. Today, I legally passed a tractor trailer and 2 cars following it, in a curve. I’ve never channeled Duane and you more. It was a legal pass and it wasn’t irresponsible but it also wasn’t the easiest thing I’ve done. Passing the semi, leaned over, in the on coming traffic lane of a two lane country road might be something I remember for a long time. We know adding throttle while adding lean gets you stuffed under the truck.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Since the family was all traveling and doing different things, I decided not to do a traditional barbecue on Labor Day. Instead I pulled Renee into the shop and slipped on a set of new Continental Road Attack 4s. Angel GTs were toasted after SEO. only 4,100 on the rear and 3,800 on the front. Front was lumpy and rear squared off. Handled like crap. I put a set of Continental Trail Attack 3s on the 21 GS for my Arkansas trip and really liked them. The 21 I use for road work and the 14 GS I use for forest service roads and such with Dunlop Trailmax Missions. Hope the Conti's work as well on the FJR as they do on the GS. Made some chicken thighs in the air fryer. Starting to enjoy the handiness of the air fryer.

Hey Ed! Isn't there a Continental Road Attack 4 GT that's designed for the heavier FJR?

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
I backed mine out of the garage to give it a bath around 1pm yesterday. It was 90+ out. I went back out and pushed it back into the garage (unwashed) around 8pm. Sorry D-Eagle, maybe next Sunday...
I did begin gathering all the things for EOM. Annette's "new to her" RDL back seat, her riding gear, rain gear, etc.
She hasn't been on the bike at all this year. The second day at EOM will be interesting...

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Jeff,
They do make a GT version. To be honest, based on my experience, I have seen no difference in handling or longevity between regular and GT/ A-spec tires on the FJRs I have had. But, I don't ride 2up fully loaded. 95% of my riding is solo with not much in the bags. In my experience, no tires are long lived on the FJR. I don't ride tires down to the cords. When the handling gets lumpy and the rear squares, I dispose of them.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Bridgestone T30 Evo wears 1/2 to 2/3rds as long as a T30 Evo GT. I got good life out of a T30 Evo GT and T31 GT then had an opportunity to buy T30 Evos cheap so I got 2 fronts and one rear. They were cheap and wore fast. Now have T32 GT on front and it appears to be giving similar long life as the T31 GT did.

Sold it! The 2008 AE that is. I gave the gentleman lots of extras so we were both pleased with the sale. I replaced it with a 2013 before my California trip this year. I hated to see the AE go. It's such an awesome bike. If they made one more year of the AE in the US, I'd buy it. I'm real happy with the 2013 also. It's no slouch either.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Congrats on the sale and buy!
Just got a front tire delivered from Rocky Mountain (Bridgestone), and will have it put on tomorrow.
Dealership had nothing (checked with them first), and Revzilla had nothing, not even different brands, so RM came through.
Since Anthony left Revzilla, they are falling off the Moto map.
They used to be my go-to for everything moto. It really is sad to see the demise of such a one time staple.
