Seems to me the Gen3's frequently have issues with ABS lights on or blinking, very sensitive system that way......
My '14 now buddy's has had issues frequently in the last two years. Haven't cured it yet....... he fixes it with an ignition cycle or hard application of the brakes.... but it will come back.
This morning I removed tupperware and prepared to flush the brakes and abs unit again…only to discover that last week when I flushed the rear brake, the abs and the clutch that I left the switch on that jumpers the 2 wires in order to flush the abs…
So, I flushed the abs unit again, then I flushed the front brakes.

Ooops. That splains the flashing ABS light..... when bike on/running, it will flash constantly with the ABS test harness "activated" but no test will run. Are you good to go now??

I don’t know. I fired the bike up..the abs unit was on. I’ll go for a ride and see if it goes out.

With the ABS test harness shut OFF or disconnected, normal behaviour should be ABS light on with ignition on, and goes off when you start riding.... per the owner's manual.

Nice 500 mile run today into western Virginia. August in Virginia is usually brutal on temps and humidity. In the mid to upper 60's this morning at 6 when we left, had to stop and put my rain jacket on because I was too cold

The mission today was to run a road that Duane loved in Virginia, Rt. 311. We've been on parts of it a couple times before he even mentioned it, and then I watched his video of him riding it and it looked like an awesome road, so we took the trek down there and rode it today. What's an awesome road.

Took the long way getting there, then rode that, then ran the Blue Ridge Parkway for about 100 miles. Riding in the high 60's, low 70's most of the day.

Not a bad way to spend the day and an even better way to think about Duane.

250 miles with Lumberg and 2 other riders we met on FB. One riding a gen2 fjr and the other a 1600 GT.

We had a nice time.

And I had ice cream.

Life is good. Stay thirsty my friends…

Completely understand, GLWS Bob. Lots of light(er) weight options out there.

Happy hunting!

Had a nice 175 mile ride through the local region. I'm starting to find the secondary roads up here and many of them are quite nice.

I managed to squeeze in a short ride this morning - followed the St Clair River north to Port Huron - nothing spectacular, but enjoyable all the same. Had to pull the rip cord from there and get home.

Went out in the garage this morning, it was 95F in the garage, before the day even warmed up. Looks like we might get a short break over the next couple of days, only going to be 95F for the high one day, maybe I'll sneak out for an evening ride if I can. Won't be long till we are looking at riding season number 2 here soon.

Rain actually would be nice at this point, my brown grass would appreciate it. I wouldn't even mind riding in it actually.

Well, wasn't planning on riding it today, but....

Can't get registration renewed right now without an inspection. Thankfully inspections are going away next year I think. I had the FJR inspected last week and went online to do the registration and the state said it can't find my inspection. Pulled out my paperwork from the inspection and sure enough the guy at the station messed up on the VIN. Hopped on the FJR and ran back into town to get them to fix the paperwork and put the right VIN in the system and now all is good and my registration renewal is in the mail. Now need the return of good weather so I can get out and ride. I need a full weekend on the bike right about now, maybe some camping too.

Yesterday I went for a short (635km/395miles) ride for lunch…nothing noteworthy or remarkable, but…only minor discomfort during..and none afterwards..

Rode it to work. Yep, I work from home but I still rode it to work.

Cold front moved through and it was mid sixties this morning so I had to get out. A local couple recently opened a coffee shop in town and they are smarter than the previous folks that had a coffee shop near there and are open early. Figured I'd go check it out, support a small local business, and get me some coffee and a ride in. Just what I needed.

Going to be a glorious 95F this afternoon, might try to squeeze in an evening ride too. Going to be back to 108F this weekend.
