Took mine for a short ride. First time riding since my vertigo. Thought it was ending a week ago but it didn’t. Finally going away now. Felt normal today so took it for a ride. No issues, so hopefully the green light for starting back riding.

Went to the BMW MOA 50th anniversary yesterday and talked to all the tire people, increased my knowledge for my next tire choice. Also got reminded that I love my FJR and don’t need a BMW.

Actually yesterday. Took a little shakedown ride after my oil/filter change and my brake and clutch fluid flush. About 3 or so hours. Started getting hot and traffic was building, not much fun crawling along when the temperature's rising so I decided to cut it a bit short. Everything appeared to working fine. No runs, no drips, no errors. :D

Would you be able to check your PMs?
I often have found myself when I was not looking, nor did that discovery take place where I thought it would!

Turned it around in the garage to face the door. I don't want to get confused at 4am Saturday. Its packed 99%, Senas are charging. Saturday morning, wake up at 3am, wake up in a quick shower, have a cup of coffee, gear up and head towards Atlanta to meet up with Jwilly's sidekick who has decided, against better judgement, to ride with me to Weatherford, OK doing a reverse jwilly. He will then turn around Sunday am, and do a reverse of the reverse jwilly and head back east-as if that's just a normal thing, while I head west to meet up with some miscreants in Colorado. I just am mystified at the number of people who have rolled the dice and agreed to ride with me.

Put it in it's hibernation spot in the garage, so I could put the car in the garage...weather forecast was calling for high winds, severe thunderstorms, golf ball sized hail, and possible tornado. the bad stuff passed to our southwest, and all we got was a little rain. Oh well...better safe than sorry.

I ordered some straps for the FJR.

I'm taking BOTH motorycles to the mountains for the summer!

Dragged the teenager out of bed early this morning to beat the heat. We were headed to a new place for breakfast burritos but they were closed so we went to the reliable backup. Yum!

Completed my first steering head inspection and retorquing. All's good! I have a set of allballs to install in the winter, but at this point I'm thinking that won't be necessary. The stock bearings and races appear to be in great shape!

I didnt actually achieve anything..What I set out to do was replace the neutral switch assembly. I assembled my impact driver, the butane soldering iron and a selection of metric allen bits and allen wrenches.
I approached the top left allen screw carefully and whizzed it out with the impact driver.
I then approached the top right with the impact driver…nothing, so I put the butane soldering iron in the head of the bolt for 5 minutes…still no luck. Then I put the soldering iron on the head for 10 minutes. Still no luck. I have had all of these bolts out 3 years ago to lube the gearshift mechanism and assembled everything with blue loctite, so this is a real mystery and a royal pain in a place where the sun don’t shine.
I then put all my tools away and abandoned the project.

This is how way too many of my projects end. And those are the ones that end well.

Leisurely ride, see the storm cell. That's cool, need fuel anyway. Hung around for the thunder, lighting, torrential rain and hail to pass. Finished riding.

Got out for a little ride on this beautiful Fathers Day, then changed the oil, for my early morning blast to Pittsburgh, to watch the start of the 2023 Iron Butt Rally.
