Isn’t that like being the most virtuous employee at a brothel?

I have been remiss. Chastised by Juandell for not adding my own lame two cents. I shall attempt to add some color commentary to Big J's most excellent play-by-play calling.

What a great ride so far. Great friends. Great scenery. Great comida (food). Great margaritas and cervezas! Great camaraderie. This brings back such bittersweet memories for me. The last time I did the whole Baja enchilada was 2004 with the Burrito Ballerina himself - Senor BeemerDonS. It still is awesome, if not quite as cheap as it used to be...... Without further adieu....

At breakfast in San Felipe.

In Baja, sometimes you do what you got to do. Especially if you ride a POS Super Tenere!

A pathetic Super Tenere rider who can't handle his alcohol. An embarrassment to Abercrombie and North Dakota don't cha know!

Full moon shot of the motos. At Bahia de los Angeles. Not sure how these will show. Completely dark but for the light of a full moon. First photo was normal, second was taken in 'night mode' on my Galaxy phone. Looks like friggin daylight! WTF?

The start of my favorite part of Baja. From 40 miles north of Loreto to 30 miles south. Incredible views of the Sea of Cortez. Beautiful beaches on the many small bays. Scenic mountains to the east with Saguaro filled desert thrown in for good measure.

Image

Image

Lunch stop at one of those small bays.

Image

Yummy Pescado (fish) sandwich.

Image

Time in Mexico is slower. If it happens at all.

Image

From my eye, this looks like the kind of bus a Super Tenere rider would ride in......

Image

Denial. It can be a strong thing. Especially with this local crowd. No hijinks going on here. No problemos with the superior Bavarian motos. But the lone POS Super Tenere? Well, here by doubting friends is your proof!

I told him not to worry. That just a little bit looks like A LOT. But after cleaning it all off one day. And the next it appearing again. He freaked out. Stopped at an auto parts store and bought some gear oil. Last night he opened the fill port...... And....... It was full! Silly Super Tenere rider!

Dinner in Loreto. Our waiter could do stand-up comedy in L.A. with the best of them.

Los Barilles. Our southernmost turnaround point. Two nights there. Beautiful beaches. Pretty sunsets. Excellent moons.

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

On our off day four of us took a day ride which included La Ventana. Holy crap. This place is all about windsurfing and kite surfing. There were HUNDREDS of kite surfers along the coast. It was wild.

Image

An outstanding dinner in Los Barilles. Pollo enchilados and pescado. Yummy!

Super Tenere riders. Heathens!

Adolfo Lopez Mateos. Sleepy little fishing village. And whale watching!

The next morning it is time for a boat ride to see some whales! It's the Rainbow Coalition.

Sorry. No great photos of the whales. They were close, but not close enough for me to get good photos. This was the first time I had ever done this. Very cool!

On our way back north getting back to my favorite area in Baja - north and south of Loreto.

Uh-oh! Me thinks someone is feeling inadequate and is getting some Bavarian Moto Envy!

Roadside taco stand leaving Loreto. Yummy!

Here is one of those idyllic little bays with some beach and folks camping and RVing. Ambercrombie had the intestinal fortitude to join me and brave the sand for the photo op. I guess ST riders aren't ALL bad.

Thank you SkooterG for bringing this up to date and for the excellent photos!

Dcarver - :finger: you could be with us and help balance the load. You are supposed to be retired.

A few pix SkooterG missed:

When we left Los Barilles on Saturday morning we rode about an hour with our friend Mark Leonard
Image

to El Triumpho and had a wonderful brunch.
Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

We rode out to Bahia Magdalena at Afolpho Lopez Mateo. Nice motel but as it was just South of the Sardine processing plant when the wind was out of ghe North it was quite odiferous.

Image

We walked down to the bay to watch the sunset.

Image

Image

Image

We passed a rookery of Frigate birds
Image
We saw breaching whales close by.
Image

There were many whales out by the bar at the entrance to Bahia de Magdalena.

The swells affected some passengers negatively.

Image

After whales watching we rode the prettiest section of the Baja coast between Loreto and Mulege where we spent Sunday night.

Our Sunday Air BnB abode
Image

We rode from Muleje to Bahia de Tortugas on the Pacific Coast today.

Image
More later.
