However, we do ride in temps that make northerners think they are about to die. It just gets way hotter than that here. ;)

95F is really nice riding weather here.

I just was commenting that it seems like it's a nice warm spell up north for some folks and both nice and strange to see them out riding in early February.

My part of PA posted the 3rd warmest January since they started keeping records. February is above normal so far as well. I've already put on almost 1500 miles already this year which is pretty uncommon for this area.

We haven't had conditions conducive to riding since late November - the only days warm enough have been rainy or roads too salty and/or icy. The long-range forecast for this Thursday is 13°C (55°F) and sunny. VERY unusual for this time of year. If there is a path through the ice patches on my street and main roads are dry (salt won't be gone), I might get out for a short scoot. Wet brine is simply awful for bikes and I avoid it whenever possible. Dry salt isn't too bad if you get it rinsed off...

I rode Saturday and Sunday trying to figure out if I like the new bike. Was 50 degrees and sunny and felt much warmer as I'm used to Winter cold right now. Only saw a couple of other bikes out. Was surprised I didn't see more. It was beautiful for February.

Wayne tore his bike apart to intentionally avoid riding with me. Harsh.

I expected to hear the daintily soft 'beep, beep' of a G-Wing horn as you passed by as I wrenched on the FJR...

It wasn't so daintily soft when I mistakenly hit it by accident when I thought I was hitting the turn signal.

One early Spring in Arkansas, Josh, Poolboy, and I rode about 12 feet on some kind of frozen shit. That was more than enough for Pants. I pulled over and it took quite a bit of leverage to peel my ass crack off the seat.

Reminds me of a pre-SC ride with griff and 0face when we were leaving the motel for some pre-ride breakfast in the November pre-dawn darkness of an old Wisconsin Dells motel parking lot. Trying to be as quiet as possible so as not to wake up the locals too much. Big ass Yamaha tank bag, hard right on the bars in the parking lot...135 dBs of Magnum Blaster horns. f@$k!

I'm sure my riding buddies were NOT happy with me, nor the residents, nor me. lol

My wife's Goldwing Valkryie has a horn that sounds like a truck horn. Also close to the turn signal and easy to hit.
Scares me every time I ride that bike.

Weather was nice.
Went for a nice ride.
Went to Pisgah Covered Bridge.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pisgah_Covered_Bridge

Decent roads to get there. It's the foothills not the mountains.

Seen along the way at a VFW out in the woods.

Covered bridge. Actually a better than average road for these parts getting there.

If you read the article. I have serious doubts about 90% of the bridge being reclaimed from the flood. The wood and construction looked newer to me.
But sometimes stories that aren't true should be. It got me there.

There is a nice small shaded park with picnic tables on the creek. Even a little trail. I think me and my wife will go there and have lunch and a hike soon while the weather is cool.

Cool little place.

Beer is always cold. Grill heats up at a moments notice. Roads are just kind of hilly, but you are always welcome.
I have a better driveway than you.

I have stumbled upon that bridge once - I think I was with my wife in the car. Funny how the memories are all jumbled in the coconut.

That bridge is a bit off the beaten path. I know you like bridges so it was probably a planned stumble. ;)

There are about 7 or more covered bridges within a nice day ride from here. We will probably ride to all of them.

Lots of covered bridges in Eastern Ohio. We used to do a yearly ride and visit at least 6 of them…plus a couple wineries.

Ah, over to my neck o' the woods, only about 10 more miles to a picture of the elephant statues at the entrance to the zoo & another 5 after that to my place.

If you guys enjoy some hiking we have several trails through federal lands to enjoy not far at all from where you were, Birkhead Mtn trails is a good place to start. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/nort ... tain-trail
