On my most recent trip, once, when I hit the "run" switch, nothing. If I toggle the switch back and forth, it started. It did this early this year one time.
Was thinking about spraying a little electrical contact cleaner in the switch.
Question: Do I take the control off the handle bar and spray from the under side? Or do I just spray between the red plastic and black and work it back and forth?
Or _______?
Thoughts?

It's a pain with that right switch with the throttle cables and heated grip wiring..... you have nothing to lose by shooting in some from the outside and work the switch..... if you need to do surgery, try leaving the rubber sleeve on at the throttle cable end of the housing and pry it apart a bit.... the forward half has an anti-rotation pin projecting which must go back in the hole in the handlebar...... no biggie, just be aware of the feature....

Re: Contact Cleaner on Run/Stop Switch?
I have a similar problem and had sort of the same question. My Sport / Touring mode switch functions erratically, changes modes by itself, and fails to work normally every time. I’ve been thinking of hitting it with electrical contact cleaner in the switch or disassembling it to spray cleaner to the inside parts.

Some contact cleaners destroy some plastics.

FWIW...
I love this stuff https://caig.com/deoxit-d-series/
I have successfully injected into area between switch and housing on KrZy8 for all switches, every time 100% satisfactory result.
Discovered DeOxit at nuclear plant for Measuring and Test Equipment. It just works.
It bonds at molecular level, cleans, lubes, preserves.
Of course, complete disassembly is best.. if you have time and inclination.
