The Official 2023 Calendar Contest

Post by DesignFlaw06 »

'm collecting photos first. I'll open up voting after The new calendar page will be up soon. The idea is to have more of an even vote count for each photo. I'm looking forward to seeing what the submissions are going to be. Good Luck!

Calendar Contest

CONTEST RULES
1) Submission deadline is November 18th. Assuming I have my act together, I hope to open up the voting on a couple days later and let it run until December 4th. The calendar should be ready to order during the following week.

2) This is an FJRiders member calendar, not specifically an FJR calendar. You may see pictures of other bikes. Award stars based on what you feel is calendar worthy and what criteria you feel an entry should meet.

3) Submissions are sent to motorcyclecalendar@gmail.com and make sure to send the high resolution picture. Be sure to include your username and info about the pictures. Two submission per member. Pick your best ones!

4) Photos must be you own. No paid photography. You may submit another image if you do not like how your image is performing. All votes for your image are reset.

5) Anyone submitting a photo automatically grants permission for the FJRiders.com staff to use the photo in any FJRiders.com or FJR-related applications.

6) I am not turning the calendar sideways for a month. Photos must be in landscape orientation. They will be resized and cropped to a 2300px x 1800px resolution. Anything that doesn't meet or exceed that resolution will be rejected as a submission.

7) Vote fairly! This contest is meant to be fun and a benefit to our FJR community. Any attempts to sabotage the contest will result in disqualification and/or ban from the contest and forum.

8) Voting is a 5 star system. Click on the highest star you want to award. Rankings are a combination of rating and number of votes.

I can't wait to see what the calendar fodder looks like this year! Thanks, Tim, for setting this up once again!!

Or maybe this:

But this one hits the spot for me.

I may have to go back to this place and get a picture in the correct orientation.

Going to have to dig through all those amazing Switzerland photos from back in July. Unfortunately, the best photos were taken by me of my riding partner Gary (MudslideMiller) on that stupid BMW F800GS he rented and was riding.

Damn Wayne, that action shot you took is fabulous. I'm calling it. It will be the top vote getter this year.

I dropped in a hopeless submission this year. Why hopeless? First of all, no FJR content. It's just three dirty ugly old DS motorcycles in a place nobody would want to see. Bonus is that I managed to get a shot without any of the very ugly owners in the picture. All things being equal, they aren't as ugly as Redfish, but nobody wants them in the shot anyway.

I will say though that I'll be glad when November gets here and I can stop being visually assaulted by that gawdawful seatcover. :D

Lol.

If this image makes it, can we PLEASE make sure it goes in July. That is about the only month I can even remotely risk not getting fired for having tatas on the wall in the principals office.

I guess I could make my own 11 month calendar.

This year I am gonna roll the dice with JWillys JackAss Junction; a well placed magnet is hopefully gonna save me.

This is such a good thing. The calendar provides a well deserved escape right above my desk.

I've actually got a few to choose from. Happy about that. I'm going to wait until after SFO just to see if something turns up over there.

Thanks. It's actually 12 different pictures, batched into one. Only carried the one speedlight with me to the photo-session and wanted it lit from multiple angles.

Easy to do; you should give it a go!

I'm headed south next weekend - a last ditch effort to capture something that may fit into the "nearly sub-epic" category - lots of time, right?
