Solved my fobo issue. Had to uninstall and reinstall the app then remove and reinstall the sensors. Now I can go back to checking my air pressure from my living room sofa. :lol:

Went for a ride today with Dale Isley today. We met at CFR on the Upper Arrow Lake Ferry between Galena Bay and Shelter Bay. Today Dale was the ride planner and took us to the old trucks in Sprague Washington. Dale says the owner can't stand the idea of these truck rotting on a farm so he buys them and collects them. It is said if you go look at the trucks enough the owner will be there and you can learn about why he is collecting these truck or as Paul Harvey said, "That is the rest of the story."

We took some nice roads from Sprague to Palouse Washington were we had a fine lunch at the Palouse Caboose Bar and Grill.

We started north with bigger plans but rain cut our ride just a bit short. It was an odd day today with clouds and forest fire smoke in the area creating eerie looking skies with a dull gray horizon. The temps were in the low '70's so it was a wonderful day for a ride. The day before was in the upper 90's.

Got the FJR pointed in launch position for work commute tomorrow in the rain at 0Dark30 as my car's brakes need attention asap. 4 inches of rain over the past two days so far and more expected tomorrow. Hopefully, no local flooding in the dark. :?

I wheeled both the FJR and the new-to-me 2017 BMW F700GS out into the driveway yesterday and gave them a wash. The FJR didn't want to start up to go back in after I finished - haven't ridden it as much lately and had the ignition on for 20 minutes or so while washing - to raise the windscreen (auto-retracts with ignition off). Battery is 11 years old with 150,000 km and although voltage is good, reserve capacity is way down. Evidently, there was enough draw from the front marker lights and tail lights to take it down enough so it was below the easy start threshold. It hasn't been a problem if it gets ridden but the new BMW has had more road time of late. Put it on a slow (2A) charge for an hour or so and it started right up. Took it for a ride to put some charge in the battery and fresh bugs on the (newly cleaned) windscreen. Not the best way to recharge a battery - should do 1 to 2 amps for 10 hr or so. Stator dumps at a higher rate that is less healthy for a discharged battery but I figure this one will need replacing by next year anyway. Didn't ride long enough for a full charge so it will go on a trickle charger for a few hours today.

Moved some things around in the garage today, swapped the DRZ and FJR's positions. Now the DRZ is off to the side and the FJR is in maintenance position. Things are cooling down now so I can actually spend some time in the garage without dying and get some things done that need doing.

Don't think it will make it to 15. On the other hand, the battery seemed weak when I bought the bike 3.5 years ago with 58,000 km on it - the previous owner had not ridden it much the previous couple of years. Rode the bike from British Columbia to New Brunswick and it was MUCH better. Perhaps another cross-continent ride will fix it? Got fewer years (9 vs 11) out of the OEM Yuasa on the '07 but more kilometers (265,000 vs 150,000).

Cleaned up and took some prototype shields downstairs, to clear up garage space.

Listened to Rush while I removed/cleaned/lubed/reassembled the both brake levers and the clutch levers. First time for this bike. It’s not even to 10,000 miles yet.

The clutch lever/bushing was pretty munged up. Looked like it had far more miles on it than it did.

The rear brake lever/assembly wasn’t too filthy. It had far more grease on the main barrel than either of my previous two. Until I got to them, that is.

New sneakers. Oil change. Headlight bulb swapped. Lever pivot points lubed, rear brake pedal lubed, and brake pads rotated.

EOM ready.

Rode it to work. 2nd day of forced FJR commuting due to service required on the car. Louanne is keeping her fingers crossed.

Took a long weekend for a ride. 1554 miles, 48-ish mpg. Went to see the Baseball Museum and Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY. And that rain storm on the east coast Sunday & Monday? Got at least 600 miles in that.

Picked up the factory bags from the dealer. Used rok straps to keep the handles in the locked position, since my locks live in my city cases. Man they look bulbous…. The bags, not the locks…

Got the backrest pad in for my topcase. Unfortunately, when they improved the cases with footman loops, they didn’t modify the backrest part to match. So I had to cut an already overpriced part to fit. Luckily, it went okay.

I didn’t want to take a chance on Wheaton getting sleepy at eom and needing to ride on the back of my bike- and having him having to lean back on bare metal hinges.

Why, I’d never hear the end of it.
