Started setting things aside for a road trip. Central NC, Roanoke, VA; Cooperstown, NY. I've always wanted to see the MLB Hall of Fame but never have. Got 3 folks coming along- 2 driving, me & another riding.
Meh. Pretty crappy but I haven't given up yet. Still some rotating to do but if this doesn't get significantly better very quickly I'll go back to Silver Star halogens.

Low beams- there's a nice cutoff but the beam is split. There's a second second beam from each bulb extending from the center up & out that lights up signs and trees very well. On high beam, the beams converge at about 60 yds then cross. The right beam points left and the left beam points right.

Changed the oil and just getting ready to wash it up real good. Maybe I will attach a photo after cleaning it to see if I can get the prestigious ~G seal of approval. 😁

I now have 50750 miles in the 17. I bought it with 16,500.

I wouldn't count on it. Be forewarned, he pries off yer tires to see if the inside rubber is clean as well.

I saw the pristine clean S10 at ~G's place, and a few days later in Nakusp it looked like this.... even though there was a water bucket and rags at the hotel, it stayed that way for the entire CFR..... I can't explain it........

Unless you've gone senile George, you should not have ANY problem remembering the names. So, it's not like you have extra work for you to do.

Me, on the other hand, am just back from the doctor...after having the coronary after seeing the mud on your bike. There's a doctor's bill here that is waiting for you. 8-)

Washed it. Installed a hard tank box from Stueberwerx, and gave it a trial run.

Continued cleaning the FJR today. With a bucket of warm water and a cloth rag, I went round the bike looking for dirt in places a wash mitt won't reach. I was on garage floor on my back looking up and finding dirt here there and everywhere. Cleaned the rear caliper, the exhaust pipes, the rear shock spring, the linkage, the underside of the final drive, the rims front and rear, along with the front calipers and nearby nooks and crannies. Just give it a good cleaning. I finished it off by spraying it with Plexus and wiping it down as my bike is wrapped in vinyl film.

It is pretty darn clean now. Maybe I will post of photo when I roll it out of the garage.

The FJR got it's 50,000 mile birthday present and I now have a clean bike.

A Canadian trip and a squeaky clean bike.

Hardly an overachiever. I live 2 hours south of the border so taking a trip to Canada is pretty easy. The pavement is certainly better than in Washington and Idaho and if one has Destination Highways BC in hand a twisty road is easy to find.

Here is a photo of the FJR post cleaning. Is is clean enough so it's owner will it get an prestigious seal of approval from the man known as ~G? :D

Image

After the photo shoot I took it for a short ride with my wife on board. It was the first time she has been on the bike in two years. We had a nice little ride about 1 hour and got home to beat the heat.

Well, it’s a lot cleaner than mine! Can’t guarantee that it meets G’s standards…but G’s crazy. Not bad crazy…just…um…fastidious.

Not my FJR, but mounted a pair of RS3's on the spare set of wheels in prep for EOM... we'll install after our event next week... I just sat the wheels and tars in the 5 pm sun, and they warmed up quite nicely.. not hot, but gee, I had no trouble getting the old ones off and the new ones on....

Changed the pumpkin oil. Decided to use a fork oil level gauge, that I had laying around and not being used. It made it a lot less messy, and easier to get it precisely to the bottom edge. Now starts the sorting and packing for EOM. :D
