Three Stooges go to Arkansas, a video RR
Yup, I went to Arkansas too. There's already two excellent writeups on the trip so I'm not going to waste time writing up a bunch of stuff that's already been said. Besides, I went and spent at least 10x the amount of time I usually spend writing an RR, except this time buried in the video editor. Here's my view of riding with Cav47 and Hppants in the Ozarks on dual sport motorcycles. Good times.
Amazing video is right here -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-C1dFMpRYfk
Some tracks -> https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit? ... sp=sharing
And here's some random photos I took.
When you buy a new saw, no matter how fruitless the attempt will be, you use that new saw at least once.
Josh playing around in the middle of a river. If there was water and it was mostly safe, Josh was playing in it.
These two goofballs avoid planning above all else. Well, not above avoiding pavement on dirt bikes. Here they are "Planning" fun routes to get us back to the campsite while avoiding as much pavement as possible.
I love this shot, I'm so submitting it for the calendar, even though it has no FJR and I know it won't get many votes because of that.
Me doing my "Happy Redfish" impression. I'm happy to be hiking in the woods, had a blast scrambling all over the place, once I got past the thick throngs of tourists clogging up the trail.
A guy at our campsite had this badass truck that we all knew Redfish would love to see.
Washed out road we were checking out when I discovered my mechanical issues.
Not a bad view while I wait on the rescue "Team."
This is the rescue "Team" which consists of just Josh enjoying the ice cold air conditioning from that "Texas truck."
Just an example of cooking over the fire that was done, great meals were had, the food porn has already been posted.

Yes...I have taken an FJR where it was not specifically designed for sure. Griff might remember going up a steep dirt hill not too far west of the Starved Rock Lodge in Illinois. (whoops!)

You mean aside from the slick water crossings? Julie proved they don't work there.

Re: Three Stooges go to Arkansas, a video RR
LOL,
I know that is jest, but there were plenty of places where Gixxer could not take his hands off the bars to start the camera. That road after Oark store was by far way over what Pants thought he could accomplish. He chugged right up it. I kept turning my head and thinking he would not be there. He was right on my back wheel.
This road would be unrideable by anyone i know on an FJR.

Re: Three Stooges go to Arkansas, a video RR
If a picture is worth 1000 words, then a video must be worth a million. What a tremendous keepsake for our trip. Thank you, Jasen for taking the time to do that.
The tracks shot is money. Since I have the same GPS, I'm going to presume that I could do that same thing. Unless of course it requires Base Camp, at which point I will have to lovingly punt. I've lost enough sleep over some sick programmer's idea of a joke. I'll live one without the wonders of Base Camp, and my cardiologist thanks me for it.
I always enjoy seeing and reading the perspective of others I have shared a bike trip with. You miss things and everyone's story shares a little bit about them. It's fascinating.
I did drop the DR on this trip more than once. Each time at a water crossing. Honestly, those (and the deep ditches from tracks) made me more nervous than the steep and/or rocky climbs and descents. I can't plan and "attack" what I can't see. Regardless, I'm such a newbie at this, I don't think one could correlate my ability to keep the bike upright with the degree of difficulty of the road. Succinctly, I set the bar pretty low and was not disappointed. I was trying not to die. Everything else was gravy on top, or water below as the case often was. Never the less, as my FJR skills are FAR better than my DR skills, I can safely attest that a couple of those roads would NOT be ridable by ANY FJR or it's rider for NO LESS THAN the bike and riders' insurance deductible, and quite possibly its (either) actual cash value. We did go through some pretty gnarly stuff.
As for my good friends' lack of positive fascial expression, I'll offer this. You can put lipstick on a pig.
But it's still a pig.
Stay thirsty, my friends....
P.S. - which one am I? Moe? Larry? Curly?
(Knuck Knuck Knuck....)

This is a most excellent ride report setting new standard for Rider's forum. Shucks to compete we all need to be cinema photographers rather than just wanna be photographers. Well done!

Jasen, your video came up in my YouTube feed last night. I had to laugh. I was scrolling through and said "I know those bikes". I think YouTube is trying to sell me a Dual Sport

That's funny, maybe if Youtube keeps promoting it, I can quite my day job and be like Itchy Boots after all.
I was opening my browser this morning and thought "I'd be funny if after this amount of time that my video thread pops up again" and there it was.
I also think it's funny that we can recognize one another's bikes faster than we can recognize the riders.
