Re: How Much Did You Ride In 2021?
In my opinion, not enough.
By the book though my total for the year was 12,216 spread out among 3 bikes. FJR as usual got the most with 11,265. Honda CB400F got 513 mostly to a couple of bike shows and the Buell managed 438 which considering a sticking float in the carb I've been too lazy to attend to isn't awful. Those miles were spread out over 214 riding days giving me a daily average ride of 57 miles on the days I rode.
SEO Ramble, Tour of Honor, Butt Lite GT, and EOM were among the highlights. We also rode Skyline Drive and part of BRP while on the way to the "Fill the Void RTE" which was held because the Void Rally we were signed up for got cancelled on short notice. Not the rally master's fault that the host hotel for the finish decided to close down for remodeling earlier than originally scheduled.
Better than 2020 but pretty far off my preferred pace. Going to try and remedy that this year with one trip already planned, taking the auto train to FL in April and riding down to Key West for Easter then working our way home over the next week starting the IBA Lighthouse Challenge Tour. Waiting to see what Team Strange offers up this year and already planning SEO and EOM.

I'm on the same tires from Sept 2019 and have put less than 2k miles on them since then! Between the pandemic and our new business, I don't ride..El Toro Joe wrote: ↑Wed Jan 05, 2022 12:40 pm sadly, not much...still on the same set of tires that were mounted September on 2020.

Well Dan I would like to feel sorry for you being constrained from riding by the weather down there in Florida but my sympathy nerve is completely frozen. We just received another foot of snow yesterday and it’s going to be -31F tonight with a high of O F tomorrow. Come on April!
Have you done anything to improve your rider skills or knowledge lately?

Well I meant out of state trips. I can't come see any of you guys. I can day ride year round. Summer months just means getting a start at day break and cutting it a bit short.Abercrombie FJR wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 10:47 pmWell Dan I would like to feel sorry for you being constrained from riding by the weather down there in Florida but my sympathy nerve is completely frozen. The perfect amount.
Made it to Busts Tech Day, Andy’s Tech Day, a ride to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, SEO, and EOM. Balanced with vacations with my wife and our wide eyed 8 year old, weekend gatherings with my aging and health declining mom at her cottage (where grandma and son Donnie have a wonderful bond), and I am treasuring every minute and wouldn’t change a thing.

Re: How Much Did You Ride In 2021?
Maybe 500, mostly short or around town errands. I dropped it off at my favorite dealer for some long neglected maintenance and new tires. GF likes the idea of some trips so we planned to get out to Rueben Run this year, but another family event came up. GF needs riding gear and we're starting to look into that. Hopefully we can get out for more weekend jaunts this year.

Re: How Much Did You Ride In 2021?
I believe i had around 10k2. which is pretty good for me, up here in northern MI.
One trip to gulf coast, ga, sc, then SEO
Another trip to CFO, met up with the son
Another trip to EOM
lots of trips to work.
Overall a pretty good year for me, and the highest yet.
Now i need a trip to see SD, AZ, NM, then another trip to see some NE states and i'll have the lower 48. Hopefully this year =)

Re: How Much Did You Ride In 2021?
Oh I forgot, I put something around 5 thousand miles on my DRZ this summer. Well, I did have the trail tech vapor error where the speedo is always reading 999mph, but a factory reset took care of that. So, my numbers there might be slightly inaccurate.

ONLY 4968 miles and all back and forth to work. I enjoyed the miles I got, always hell of a lot better than being between doors. I hope to get a few days rides in next season, a tech day (need to check valves) and EOM is in ink on my calendar.

Re: How Much Did You Ride In 2021?
I checked tonight and I rode 18,022 in 2021, just a little bit less than my average miles for the year.
When I acquired Freya in December 2018 she had 12,454 miles on her, when I trade her in on Wednesday she will have 67844 as of December 31st. I plan on trailering her over to Sturgis as the salt and slop are awful.
3 years of ownership - 55,390 miles ridden/3 years = 18,463 average miles per year.
I hope to do a little better on the new bike in 2022.
On the calendar or on the horizon:
Copper Canyon in March/April
TransLab and Maritime Provinces in June/July (COVID Dependent and only if Festar can come)
Dust to Dawson - Dawson City YT - Late June if no Translab
Reuben Run 2022 - Ray's Last hurrah and a ride down the West Coast - early September
