Laam Custom Motorcycle Seats

After deciding on a Laam seat on Monday, I gave Seth a call and was able to get a Ride-In appointment the very next morning. A quick check of the weather showed "unseasonably warm" for the next few days. Grabbed an overnite bag and out the door I went.

It's just under 200 miles from Lakeview, Or. to Redding, Calif. taking 395 South to 299 West. On the way down I stopped 3 times. First stop was Alturas to top off on gas (56 miles), the other two were each another ~50 some miles down the road and were to get the blood flowing in my seat again (stock Gen II seat.)

Next morning at 8:00 I was lucky enough to watch the artist at work, doing what he does so well, from start to finish. Very Impressive. About 3/4 of the way though, Seth asked me to sit on the yet unfinished seat and answer a few relevant questions, then a quick cut here, grind down there, and a small extra strip of padding here, etc., etc. and Voila!



On the ride back I only stopped once for gas. The seat was custom built to my specific build and needs and is unquestionably the most comfortable motorcycle seat I have ever experienced. An excellent "custom-made" seat for an awesome deal. Let's just say that the barter system is alive and well. Just sayin', nuff said...

Here's a close up of the Granite thread he suggested for the edges of the seat to subtly mesh with the Liquid Silver paint. "It's the little things that matter."

Thanks, I forgot to mention the vinyl is a pattern called "Sharkskin". Durable and definitely no slipping on this stuff. Cleans up with a quick spray of Lemon Pledge.

Possibly, I did see a few other seats waiting on the bench. He's very fast and efficient, and was able to do mine from start to finish (remodel the front and recover the rear) in just over 2 hours, while carrying on friendly conversation with the 2 or 3 folks that were there. Shipping will take a 1000 times longer than it takes him to build a beautiful new seat.

This is a desirable trait on a dirt bike, not so much on a street bike.

If you constantly sliding forward and nutting yourself on the tank, its a problem with the design of the seat. Not the cover.

Mine was under $300 for the front redesign/recovering and just the recovering (so it matches) on the rear seat.

I just got my seat back from Seth last week. Nice looking seat. I went with vinyl and added heat to the front. I also had him work on the rear seat for my mrs. Just need weather to clear up so I can put so miles on it.
