Re: 2022 FJR1300 Announced
That’s jwilly sales. I keep them a few years until they get banged up and higher mileage. Jwilly periodically yeets FJR’s off sweet jumps and totals them, for America. He has an FJR subscription. I just dabble.

I think you wear them out faster than anyone through normal riding. I think Yamaha keeps the FJR going just for you and JWilly, ya'll are an official part of the balance sheet.bill lumberg wrote: ↑Tue Nov 23, 2021 2:31 pm That’s jwilly sales. It's all a matter of perspective. In this case we are comparing to JWilly, in which case Mr. Lumberg is quite normal. Compared to the rest of us, eh, not so much.wheatonFJR wrote: ↑Tue Nov 23, 2021 3:12 pmI think you misspoke.gixxerjasen wrote: ↑Tue Nov 23, 2021 3:06 pm I think you wear them out faster than anyone through normal riding.

You can retrofit a quickshifter, but do you really need it?

Traxxion has re-done many ES.
Yes a R1M would look good next to a 22 FJR.

I always get blessed by the boss when looking at new bikes. In my case it's a trap. She is also looking at new bikes. So it costs us double.

Re: 2022 FJR1300 Announced
He hasn’t ridden an fjr more than a couple of blocks since he started his current company (with the exception of a couple of trips) . Huge revenue. Schedule packed halfway into next year. Already outgrew their first accounting firm (there’s your sign). Happy for the success, but looking forward to when he gets to get out and sacrifice tires to the mountain gods again.

I know a guy that has already purchased helis for a bike he does not yet own. And has removed nonessentials and staged stuff to be swapped off his current bike. He must be crazy or something.

How do you like the look of the black with gold rims (Cdn 20th anniversary model) compared with your matte blue?Canadian FJR wrote: ↑Sun Dec 12, 2021 8:49 am I received a call from my dealer yesterday, only two coming to Nova Scotia. He thinks I need one

Do you have enough kilometers on the 2018 to justify a trade?

Spied that color scheme on the European model back in 2019 and really like it.
I only have 91,000 km on my ‘18 so I’m really not sure.

Re: 2022 FJR1300 Announced
I’m still trying to figure out the new normal.
Talked to a rep with the largest dealer network in the area yesterday. They no longer accept any trade ins with more than 50k, at any price, and they have no FJR’s ordered. If they ordered, their estimate is 3-6 months to delivery.
I’m not smart enough to figure out what’s driving it. Lack of new stock, excess used inventory, who knows. It’s just entirely opposite of normal. Whether it’s Covid buying patterns or stock issues, it’s baffling.
The only thing that makes sense is that dealers have made used bikes a much bigger part of their business model. Time will tell.
Instead of trading like normal, or selling to a private party, it’s got me considering buying new (something I can find in stock) or used and keeping my current bike. Between Covid hysteria and market shifts, it’s like living in Oz.
I was on a call this week where a D.C. analyst was reporting that this or that place was in lockdown or quarantine. I was like- no they’re not. They have no reason to be, and I just left there.
Crazy times. Ride safe.

When I visited my Mom and Pop Yamaha dealership they had ONE new bike in stock. A small dirt bike. The floor was full of used bikes and PWCs.bill lumberg wrote: ↑Sat Dec 18, 2021 7:55 pm I’m still trying to figure out the new normal.
