The Official 2022 Calendar Contest
I'm collecting photos first. I'll open up voting after The new calendar page will be up soon. The idea is to have more of an even vote count for each photo. I'm looking forward to seeing what the submissions are going to be. Good Luck!
Calendar Contest
CONTEST RULES
1) Submission deadline is November 14th. Assuming I have my act together, I hope to open up the voting on a couple days later and let it run until November 30th. The calendar should be ready to order during the first week of December.
2) This is an FJRiders member calendar, not specifically an FJR calendar. You may see pictures of other bikes. Award stars based on what you feel is calendar worthy and what criteria you feel an entry should meet.
3) Submissions are sent to motorcyclecalendar@gmail.com and make sure to send the high resolution picture. Be sure to include your username and info about the pictures. Two submission per member. Pick your best ones!
4) Photos must be you own. No paid photography. You may submit another image if you do not like how your image is performing. All votes for your image are reset.
5) Anyone submitting a photo automatically grants permission for the FJRiders.com staff to use the photo in any FJRiders.com or FJR-related applications.
6) I am not turning the calendar sideways for a month. Photos must be in landscape orientation. They will be resized and cropped to a 2300px x 1800px resolution. Anything less than that will be rejected as a submission.
7) Vote fairly! This contest is meant to be fun and a benefit to our FJR community. Any attempts to sabotage the contest will result in disqualification and/or ban from the contest and forum.
8) Voting is a 5 star system. Click on the highest star you want to award. Rankings are a combination of rating and number of votes.

Based on what I've seen, I suspect there will be a heated competition this year, which will result in a stellar calendar.

Wait... nevermind.
I may have one or three to consider...
This one should be Ms February.
And for May - so folks have a reference for where to ride in SE Ohio...

True, I pretty much know one of them, it's picking the second one that's going to be tough.Tyler wrote: ↑Fri Oct 08, 2021 5:50 pmIt's gonna be a challenge to pick just two of yours from this year's adventures!gixxerjasen wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 11:49 am Based on what I've seen, I suspect there will be a heated competition this year, which will result in a stellar calendar.

Does rule #4 mean that the maximum submission per contestant is 2 images?

Re: The Official 2022 Calendar Contest
No, rule #3 says max is 2 images. Rule #4 is about swapping images if it isn't going your way. Also that they have to be your images, not the images of a professional photographer.

Re: The Official 2022 Calendar Contest
I went for a ride yesterday with the idea of capturing additional candidates for the calendar contest. The calendar contest is Tim's project, so of course my ride was shortened when I ran into rain - it can be captioned, "Riding with Tim."
And it followed me south.
The rain ended up being less than 2 miles up the road from this spot.
And it followed me south.

Wayne - that picture of the bike in front of the fog is a good one. Depicts the bike in a "light" that I don't remember ever seeing before (from anyone).
Thinking about the ride reports I've seen this year, we are definitely in for a really good 2022 calendar.

^^^^ The parking lot was less than 10 feet away with no curb. LOL
Or I could say I rode it up a baby head rock strewn path almost a mile to get there. That gives me more street cred!

Well we're halfway to a calendar, but far short of a contest. We have 6 different users that submitted photos so far.

Hey, if they all submitted 2 pictures, you should close it and call it done.
I still gotta play with my photos in DarkTable, hoping to have some time this next week.

Re: The Official 2022 Calendar Contest
I got one entry in. Picked out some candidates for my second. Getting a proper crop to fit the calendar size is turning out to be giving me more fits than I'd thought to get it just right. I'll have the second one here in a day or two when I have more time to fiddle.
