What are you using? I've been happy with this one on two trips. Power into the bag but quick disconnect.

Attempted to buy a 17 FJR with 2130 miles. The dealer's asking price is $14390. There is a scratch on the left saddle bag otherwise it is in good condition. Transmission recall completely by dealer yesterday so it is untested.

Negotiation was nearly futile. The dealer came down to $13990 and said take it or leave it.

I left it unwilling to spend so much on a nearly five year old motorcycle. The bike has been there about two months and apparently they think the Sport Touring market is robust.

Check back in six weeks. The prospect of paying whatever taxes they pay on inventory for the winter may make them want to deal.

No rational state taxes inventory. However, it is a used motorcycle so the dealer had to use cash to acquire for inventory, borrow money to take it in trade, else the machine is owned by a 3rd party flooring company who sets the price. Dealer pockets the difference between the selling price and the flooring company's price.

Most manufacturers provide "free flooring" for a period of time on new inventory. Interest free to the dealer. Incentives, holdbacks, and other tricks we know auto makers play primarily serve as incentive to the dealer to sell sooner than later so as to reduce the capital costs of inventory.

TecMate Tank Bag Power Adapter Cable. Gives me a 5amp (or whatever fuse, up to 10A, I put in my Fuzeblock FZ-1 for this circuit) cig.socket which I then use a 2 usb charger adapter. Works well, it's up and running. I used the right side rubber entry hole on my Nelson Rigg tank bag for the power adapter which also has rubber seals. Not bad install...

Sounds good. I ran mine through the same rubber entry hole on my Givi tank bag. Did you put in a quick disconnect? I like being able to just disconnect and take my bag with me when I'm going inside somewhere. Too much expensive stuff hooked up to that charger.

Lol. Quads, boats, rv's to bicycles, paddleboard's... You name it, the dealers can't keep them in stock.

My bike had been listed, slightly below normal asking price since April.

2 inquiries. 1 was a stupid offer sight unseen, the other, the guy came to look at it for exactly 180 seconds (this required me we excavating it from my shed which took about 3 hours. Then put the battery in. Then wash it, then detail it.

Tomorrow, if it's nice.. it's going back in the shed until next season. Most of the insurance if coming off. No sense in spending 1400/yr for something i might have rode 500 miles this past summer

Meanwhile over the the Apple forum Apple says exposure to vibrations, like those generated by high-powered motorcycle engines, might impact iPhone cameras.

Cleaning up the front brakes on the 06, heard a strange tick. Rotors run true, nothing obvious.
Got some new piston seals to put in tomorrow. I've always kept fresh fluid in it?

What kind of tick?
Once per rotation?
With or without brakes applied?
Might be worth checking your front wheel bearings when you have the wheel off the bike.
Even a stone caught in the tread or (worse) a foreign object in the tire - nail or similar.
Are the brake pad retaining clips properly situated?

yes on the disconnect. I used the 2 prong SAE plug for the power lead. The "kit" I bought comes with a weather rubber shield. Will see how water proof but since the Nelson Rigg has a rain cover I think I'll will be ok.

Yesterday, rode it to a cool dudes house so I could try his super Tenere. It was a pristine and well appointed bike.

Got a text from my shop telling me my exhaust hanger part is on indefinite backorder.

Putting the heat troller back on today. Won’t be long before I’ll need it.

I leave a Battery Tender SAE pigtail with cover hanging out over the headlight of my Subaru Outback. No weather problems.

525 miles due north today on the old lipstick special. Now camped in Harrison, Arkie.

She still runs like a scalded ape.

Stay thirsty, my friends.....

Then can you even say that you have camped? Let alone call yourself a camper?
I often have found myself when I was not looking, nor did that discovery take place where I thought it would!

Home after three weeks, 5142 (s)miles, more twisty roads and corners than I can count and many, many good memories visiting with friends. Experienced temperatures from 33F to 104F and altitudes from sea level to 12,000+ feet. Only rode one goat trail and I can't even blame Panman for that adventure! Maintenance time now...'tars are looking well used.
