Packed it for 7 days on the road - departing tomorrow (Saturday) morning - heading west and north.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Nothing but I did add a couple of things to the RS3 that I always thought should have come standard.
Replacing the OEM (silver) mirror caps (think A3) with carbon fibre ones (yes those gaps are standard for the different light/sensor/etc.)
Adding a little color to the dash.
So far +5mph top speed and 10% fuel savings. Soon I'll have to drain the extra fuel out of the tank with all these 10% fuel savers.

That is a lot of upgrading of a Dunlop Roadsmart 3.

Don't get to do a lot of long rides but I ride often. Generally every weekend. Last few weekends have been bad weather or home projects. Felt good to ride today. It hot so daybreak to noon did the trick.

Left the house yesterday at 7 am. Home by 11:30 175 miles later. It's just too darn hot to go much more. That's 2 short morning rides in about 2 months.
Come on September.

Anyone in Texas can thank me. I figured it's mid July, the 100F's are coming with the blazing sun, so let's take down the FJR and ship the forks off for repair. Because of that it's stayed in the low to mid 90's, been cloudy and even rainy at times. You are welcome.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Met up with an old friend that in past years was a frequent riding buddy when we rode sport bikes. We both said we miss those days. Need more of today...
Rode up through the apple orchards and Michaux State Forest. Overcast, 72, and 3 drops of rain. It was a good day.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Pretty much what I did Saturday. You have to get an early start and finish early this time of year.
I watch the ambient temperature creep up as the morning went on. I tend to call it a day when it's to about 93f.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Put on the new to me Corbin Smuggler I just got delivered today. A little disappointed that the paint didn't match as expected. It came off another 09AE but I guess that guy also bought it used so it was not the right paint code but close. My thought was go with the smuggler and remove the bags and trunk to lighten things up. Between what I took off and all the excess stuff I carried unnecessarily and what I put back in the smuggler the net weight loss was about 65 pounds. I can't wait to try it out.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
I bought mine new and it's not an exact match of the 2013. Very close and looks fine, but you can tell if you look closely.FastPappy wrote: ↑Mon Jul 19, 2021 3:22 pm Put on the new to me Corbin Smuggler I just got delivered today. Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Many moons ago when the 13 came out a crazy Englishman in socal didn't like the black front fender so he had a custom paint color mixed and it's a match. Probably the only 13 with a color matched front fender. Not that anybody gives a shit. Ask SkooterG cause I believe that bike is in his fleet.
