Turning on TCS
From time to time I like to disable the TCS, too bad you have to be stopped to do it.
Yesterday I wanted to turn it back on while cruising along. Tried hitting the button while moving and it wouldn’t turn on. I decided to just pull in the clutch, turn the bike off, turn it back on then release the clutch while rolling along.
I couldn’t think of any other way to do it without stopping.
Any other suggestions?

Re: Turning in TCS
I don't have any suggestions but I've never ridden without it. How does turning it off change things for you? Just curious if you can tell it's off and in what situations you really notice the difference.

Re: Turning in TCS
Can't do a good wheelie with TCS on. Can't rooster tail sand with the TCS on. Can't do long burn-outs with TCS on. TCS is really a fun killer.

Re: Turning in TCS
To turn TCS off or on, bike must be stopped....... no need for ignition cycles..... but must be stopped.

Re: Turning on TCS
Ionbeam pretty much summed it up.
As far as turning it back on, I didn’t stop. I just killed the ignition with the clutch in while rolling and then back on. It then defaults back to on but hoping there was a simpler option.

Same here. They said my 79 Eleven wouldn’t beat a 78 GS1000 down a dragstrip/frontage road. They were wrong!

And then I did with my 2018 YCC-S FJR, which "they" also say can't be wheelied. And totally accidentally.wheatonFJR wrote: ↑Tue Jun 15, 2021 6:57 pmSame here. They said my 79 Eleven wouldn’t beat a 78 GS1000 down a dragstrip/frontage road. They were wrong!

I wouldn't worry about that Jasen, that bike only runs on petrol. In litres.

Someone like ionbeam or Ignacio once berated me for complaining about our petrol prices, he pointed out that our journeys are shorter, which is true. Up until Covid struck I've averaged something like 8000 miles a year. So I’ve given up complaining. Which did no good anyway. Nobody listens to me.

Next question
Any of you smart folks have an idea how to rewire/reprogram things so one can turn the TCS on and off while in motion?
I’m sure you can do it on other bikes.
