Took a little ride today. Cherohala Skyway, Dragon, 28 South, then back home. 71 degrees at top of Skyway, 91 at the bottom. Beautiful day! 325 miles total. Renee was sweet today! Love this 15 ES!

Put new peg rubber on. Usually have to use a torch to get those screws loose. But after about 45 minutes of commute in 95 degree heat, the screws came out pretty easy.

Yer spelling it wrong. When you are sitting on an FJR there is an S in front of the word you used.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Hack,
Where our words originate is something of a hobby to me. "Mile" is the shortened form of the Latin "mille passuum" (one thousand paces). The ancient Roman military "pace" was the distance between either the right foot or the left foot hitting the ground, when marching. That "pace" distance was about five feet. If you do not normally use the "foot" as a measurement, most people have one at the end of each leg, for reference as a length. So a "mile" is roughly 5000 feet, or more accurately, it is 1,6 km long. 441 miles will be about 710 km. Now you know.
Cheers,
Red

Yeah, I ride motorcycles. I know why dogs put their heads out of the car windows.
Yeah, I fly hang gliders (3000 hrs.+). I know why the birds sing.

Okay, this is getting weird. I am heading out tomorrow evening for Spearfish area as well. I will be in the Sequía, while hauling the KLX on a hitch carrier. Abercrombie, myself, and I hope Bigjohnsd are going to be riding some dirt.Spininprop wrote: ↑Wed Jun 16, 2021 10:10 pm Packed and ready to head out at 6am tomorrow for Spearfish, SD and the surrounding area. Rode the FJR to the summit of Mt. Spokane today, the first time I have been there. It is a low speed down and out but offers nice views from the top. No photo of that but I did snap a couple of the rest of the ride.
The FJR above Lake Roosevelt.
Mudget Lake.
Turtle Lake.
It was a good day to be on the FJR.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Found out the small Yamaha dealer I was going to go to lost both their techs. So now my recall and maintenance might be on hold or I have to find another dealer. Sucks cause I liked these guys. Hopefully they get new techs soon.
Luckily mine is not the 2nd gear recall. Just the brake light. It has not ever malfunctioned and that has been since 2013 so I feel safe riding it.

We finally got a day where it wasn't 98°, wasn't 45° and didn't rain so I wash my bike. I even got carried away and dabbed a bit of wax here and there. Whew, got that out of the way for the next few years

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
After 3 days, almost 1750mes and just shy of 41 gallons of fuel, i'm watching the thunderstorm clouds at Bell's motorlodge in spearfish, sd.
Burned Lot of fuel crossing the prairie, hellish headwinds and winds from my port and starboard. I was literally leaned over countering the winds for 95% of the 460 mile day. The last 90 miles were simply outrageous. Wind at my back for maybe 5 miles. But i had fun.
I saw a lowfuel burn of 16 and a high of 70.

When the roads are that straight, isn't it fun and exciting to get a little lean action in?

True. But I'd like to skip the "discarded" bicycle in the middle of the lane on I90 going 85mph. That made me pucker a bit.

Oh, is the FJR rider i saw yesterday on this board? Running east or south on I90 or I29 respectively. I think I90. It was a long day with the winds and I should remember, but i do not...
