Windshield Motor Noise
My windshield motor just started making noises the other day. It sounds like plastic is rubbing somewhere and it is adjusting much slower than usual on the way up. I can't see anywhere that is rubbing. Note that I added a rifle shield this summer... On the way down, it works just fine. I have ~18k miles. Thoughts?

Re: Windshield Motor Noise
A few people have had to take the assembly apart and put lithium grease on the parts that rub. Dirt and crap gets in there, so grease and a cleaning may fix your issue.

Re: Windshield Motor Noise
worked for me. It also started jumping on the way up. Cleaning and I used dupont dry wax spray on it without taking it apart.
i buy it at Lowes and have been using it on the SV chain for years. I lube kickstands and brake and clutch levers with it.
my bad. that link was wrong stuff. this is what I use. still buy at Lowe's

Re: Windshield Motor Noise
I wouldn't use grease that would attract dirt......... the teflon idea sounds better or a graphite spray. Prolly good to completely cycle the system once in a while. I'm going to tear mine down to see what bushings may be wearing, it's 6 years old after all....

I use it daily... so lack of use wouldnt be a problem!! I'll take it apart next weekend and see what I can find.
