I just went through your "Name that place" thread on the other forum. Good stuff. Makes me want to get out more.

Welcome! I post about as much here as I do there (just a tad more than none). "Name that place" is taking me down memory lane as I dredge up photos from past rides.

"Name That Place" has added many POI to my basecamp screen and made me wonder a couple things.

There are some great pix and video on the forums but I wonder if they look even better in the raw, before they go through the video editing software, photo hosting websites and then the forums themselves. Something has to be lost in the file size reductions, doesn't it? I've spent a lot of time making home videos out of our trip imagery but more often than not, rather than watching those videos I just leave files of the raw images running as a slide show. Solution goal-see them in person.

I wonder about story behind the pics (I guess I could look in "One Picture Ride Reort").

An unnoteworthy pic that I posted in "Name That Place". It serves the intent of the game but does a pityful job of conveying the significance of the day.

I've stepped away from the keyboard, showered, tended the days wounds and otherwise gotten ready for bed, but I can't stop chuckling and wondering.

I may have missed it in another forum, but I don't really want to know the actual answers, maybe. What triggers the "Wheaton Probably"? Is it on all posts? Just posts from peeps that have received x number of likes from Wheaton? If this is selective and not popping up on all posts, was the implementation of the function the true reason for the forums recent down time?

I'm having too much fun imagining the scenarios of how this came about. The folks in the room when this was conceived must know what the writers felt like when " 'tis but a scratch", "Floyd R Turbo", "Super Dave Osborne", "shitter's full" and Blazing Saddles were born.

Every time I submit a post about "Wheaton Probably" and I see that "Wheaton Probably" immediately out of the corner of my eye it cracks me up again.

Why would you HATE Redfish? Redfish is not only the nicest person typing on this particular keyboard at this particular time, he is also by far the handsomest man in this office.

Sadly, Redfish is alone in this room at the moment.

I am truly delighted that Goodman4 finally made it over here. Now we just need him to post some more on this forum.

I am sure many of us would call being here something other than a "time hole". I am sure we could come up with more colorful metaphors and other descriptions of our past unspoken here but lets not piss off the admins.

Glad you found us. For a Sport Touring bike forum it is lively here even if we are mostly behind our prime.
