Thanks Wayne and Tim for fighting the fire and putting it out. Your hard work has not gone unnoticed. Now I gotta read all of wheaties posts. He's been bottled up for a while.

extrememarine wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 4:18 pm Regarding donations - I do appreciate the continued willingness to support the efforts here monetarily. The donations received have helped take the hosting expenses from a personal burden to minimal at best. A portion of the calendar sales were funneled to the cause (Thank you Tim (Designflaw06) and everyone who purchased a calendar). The malware removal was $299 for the ecommerce / business level plan, and the annual renewal is approaching in April. Domains have been renewed already (fjriders.com, FJREOM.com).
The donation path is established in the attacktheroad.com shop, but is current turned off or in vacation mode while I work on refinements there.
Tim and I are discussion the option of exploring other hosts, which is why the donation item in the store is not turned on yet. One of the lessons learned in this in regards to the support options the host offers. Their front line option is a chat session. That's the path I've always used for minor things, and during the major event, I hit the limitations of that support's ability to address this type of issue. If asked last week, my response would have been we're pulling the ripcord on this joint and finding a new home. But then I called the toll free number they have for support - which is open 24/7 (same as the chat). My fear was that the 800 number would dump to a call center off-shore and I'd be in a conversation with "Jerry" that needed every question / response repeated in clearer english. To my surprise, I got Adam in Denver. He was immediately concerned and committed to have the issue resolved that day. Shame on me for fumbling through countless chat sessions when I could have called sooner. Credit for the call (or making the call) goes to Tim. Adam teamed up with Sam, who did some final adjustments that allowed us to be at a point to access the forum and begin reinstalling the extensions / customizations.
Their customer service when live via phone was outstanding, and was substantial enough for me to retract my "we're pulling the ripcord" statement.
At some point I do intend to open the shop and ask for donations to off set the annual host plan and to recoup the funds I spent on the malware service. I'm just not to that point yet, because the focus is on ensuring the emoji's and love button is functioning, among other things, like the backup and migration strategy, etc.
Again, thank you for everyone's patience and assistance. The FJRiders.com outage warning system functioned flawlessly (thanks wheatie & 0face), and to Tim for his patience's in explaining things at a level even this knuckle-dragger could understand (mostly).

Like it never happened.
Except for all the things that happened behind the scenes. For which we are all are grateful, without understanding what all happened out of sight.
I've run a car site, I know how much went into recovering this site.
Thanks!

I feel for you two. My CBA site got hacked, provider iPage. It took all my skill sets then some to recover the site. In my case, mySql was corrupted too, so it was almost like starting from scratch. Fortunately, I had a local database copy available.... because the 'restore' provided by iPage failed miserably.
Good to see the https:// too.
Makes me think I should leave iPage for a hosted site. Right now, all admin work is on me for CBA; database, Drupal updates, extensions, blah blah blah.. and I'm multiple versions behind, especially on php code.
Hats off, you and this forum, except for Wheatie, rock!

Re: WTF Happened on February 3rd, 2021 (Forum Outage)
I was on iPage for a bit, then Dreamhost and now InMotion. InMotion's customer service was great once I picked up the phone and called support. The chat support is ok, but hits some limitations when the problem is non-standard. We've had the best site performance with InMotion as well.

It f@$king took you long enough! We've been having to entertain Wheaties over text. My God he's needy. For a minute, I thought maybe, we had been abandoned. I'm glad to know that's not the case.
Thanks for the hard work. When you're ready to take donations, let us know, or text me your PP address.
Kisses!!

Not to worry. The NOW forum kept him occupied, I’m sure.
