I was browsing in Princess Auto (Canadian equivalent to Harbor Freight) and came across this cheap vise clamp...

I saw a possibility into modifying this so I spent the $20 CAD and took it home. In the shop I took my air die grinder and ground off the rivets for the clamping pads and drove out the pin holding the pads with a drift punch...

I then took my cut off grinder and ground some of the arm away to fit the size of the buttons on the fuel line coupler...

I tested it on my FJR and also on my WR450F dirt bike. the coupler on the dirt bike is even more stubborn than the FJR and the tool seems to work fairly well. For $20 in materials and 15 minutes in the shop I think it was worth the effort.
