Off Season Posts

Post by FJRPittsburgh »

After reading all of the active topic posts, I think it's pretty obvious that many of us on this continent are in the off season as far as motorcycle riding. Shorter days, very little riding, so good for my mind. I love living in the North and having a short riding season.

Uhh, ya....

I have my car's snow tires taken of sometime in May or June. I have them put back on sometime in November or December. The mechanic usually has to comment that I sure don't drive very much, there is only 2-3 thousand miles on the car. I just sit there and smile as I say that ya, that's true, but I have 14 thousand miles on my motorcycle

I ride FJRs to extend my riding time here in New England, so my riding isn't limited to a short season. My FJRs have added 3-4 months to my riding time over my other naked bikes. Ahhh!!!

Agree. Once it is well and truly here, you can suck it up and have no expectation/hope of a reprieve. From Late October to early December I live in hope of a few more good rides. From mid-March to late April, I see every cold day or bit of snow as a setback waiting for the riding season to begin. Mid-December to mid-March, the pressure is off - no riding for sure.

What he said. Plus, May is such a tease, it sure seems like riding season should be here by then. May, highs are >70°, lows are around 40°. And, typically it will rain ⅓ to ½ the month.

All seasons with Hockey in them are bad and worth complaining about.

Truth be told, i haven't watched an NHL hockey game in nearly two decades. Do they still play that shit?

Now, were coming into IIHF world juniors season. That I watch, great hockey.

I have an FJR, it goes real fast. I can sit on it in the heated garage and make vroom, vroom sounds.

Actually got some maint planned for a couple bikes, generator, chainsaw, leaf blower.
Put the top on the T-bird. Set the dual point on a guy's old school Hemi street rod.
