Day Long

Post by fjrider2013 »

I have decided to order a Russell Day Long seat. Any suggestions?

I got the backrest with mine. Love it as it lets me lean back occasionally during long rides. It comes off in about 2 seconds. Better to get it if you "think you might want/need it" then to be sorry you didn't because you'll have to send the whole seat back again if you decide to add one later.

Get a pair of LD comfort shorts to go with it. After you no longer have a burning ass you will notice the seams in your shorts chewing at your cheeks.

Never needed or wanted a back rest.

I got a Day long in cloth.

While it is great in the summer heat, It sucks when you get caught in the rain.

if I had it to do over again, I would have gone with vinyl.

Daylong in leather for the front and just the covering for the back. Much better than the cloth ones from other mfgrs I've had before. Got the rain cover, use Lexol cleaner and conditioner 1 or 2 times a year. Best seat I've ever had.

Leather all the way with the large square pattern is what I have. The vinyl will last longer but your arse will not be happy in the summer. The right depth of the seat is important otherwise the wings will impinge on your leg. My wife is a small person so I had to get an adjustment with less seat depth. I have had Russell's on my last 4 bikes. Great seats and worth every penny.
Searching for roads paved with Asphalt, unless I am riding the mighty DR650 bushpig.

Jeezuz! I stop by just to see if anything's changed around here and I immediately see wheatonFJR talkin' about his happy ass and braggin' about his low hangin' fruit. Good to see nothing's changed

Just so I'm not accused of trying to hijack a thread, I'm about two days away from brokering a trade where I'll be swapping the FJR for a FZ6 and a Suzuki Boulevard (long story). My all-leather Russell Day-Long is NOT part of the deal, so I'll be selling it.

Carry on...

Have fun on the FZ-6 Larry...and the other bike too.

Stop in more often...or I'll be down in SC before I get a chance to say buh-bye.
