Stalling On Takeoff

To finish off a bad luck EOM trip that would make a good country song, my bike started to stall.
Starts fine, warmed up, and then stalled leaving the Hotel. Normal takeoff RPM is 1.5 to 2K, had to go over 3K to let out the clutch. Killed it three more times on the way to get gas, filled it at two bars. After that first fill up, it ran fine the whole way to Fredericksburg VA with a couple more fill ups.

I thought the plugs might have loaded up from idling down 421 for twenty miles looking for ejected stuff from my open saddle bag? It ran after 4k RPM so that doesn't make sense.

Jealous that you made it to EOM. Sorry about the open saddlebag, it was a tail bag that did me one trip. I got my tail bag back, I hope your contents was found or gets back to you. Was it the two screws on the latch going MIA or was it operator error failure to properly close the bag?

If the stalling on takeoff reoccurs, one item that can cause the stalling is a Throttle Position Sensor beginning to go bad. Do you know if the TPS was ever updated? Note I don't say fail, I say going bad. The TPS won't leave you stranded but it will bug the shit out of you as you stall in traffic. My TPS also progressed and started causing very rough engine operation in a very narrow RPM range.

There can also be a problem with plugging of the line to the MAP sensor - generally accompanied with an error 14.

You won't load the spark plugs by idling along..... but one thing at a time.
Assuming you don't have water in the fuel, I'd hold off on Seafoam for the moment. I would inspect the MAP sensor vacuum hose and nipple for any blockage with a waxy substance and clean that up... if that is clean, try the Seafoam.
TPS can be the issue, but that's hard to test..... try the above first and see what happens. IF the problem continues, then I think it's time to replace that TPS.

Mike - that sounds suspiciously similar to an issue I was having with my bike the last time we were in Wytheville. For my bike, turned out to be the MAP sensor. As soon as I lifted the tank and touched it, it popped outta the housing. Have you been rooting around under the tank lately? Mebbe a throttle body synch or a recent valve check?

I was under the tank lubing up the throttle.

The good news is it will snap back together if it came apart.....

I wonder if water got in your gas overnight? E10 dissolves a good amount of water carrying it through the engine (which is bad). Then new gas diluted what remained and all was fine.
