Amazing photos and stories, thanks for sharing!
It was a lot of good timing. I very much dislike the process of video editing, especially the process of going through hours of film looking for five minutes of viewable footage. I had finally gotten that task completed last week, and got to spend a few days learning DaVinci Resolve as I move away from Windows Movie Maker. Once that was done and I had good renders, it was down to the process of writing the reports. That part is easy and doesn't take too long. I chose to augment the reports by pulling screenshots from my videos, which meant opening those videos again, but I knew where everything I wanted was this time so it went faster. I was slowed down by the horrible Quik software from GoPro though, but I pushed through it.

Great job on the videos too! Where's that main camera mounted, on the chin of your helmet? That's a great perspective. Video editing is tough! I have Premiere Pro and while it's awesome, and fun, it takes a crazy amount of time to go through video and put it all together, so great job on what you did, I know how much time that probably took.

Cool to see Cav and Kool Kid in front of you. At least we now know they were there

Yes, for most of the shots it's on the chin. It's the best place to get the riders perspective and I like that I can point it toward what I want to capture easily enough. It takes a lot of time to set up other shots. Those riders who go back and forth setting up tripods to get off bike shots, that's a lot of work!

The main editing is pretty fun once you get going. It's that initial process of getting clips to use that's such a drag to begin with. Resolve is amazingly powerful, and still free. I found through some tutorials a lot of tools that really work well that I wished I'd had before. I only scratched the surface of what it can do.

Yes, it was a lot of fun following Cav and Spawn around that day.

Great Report Jasen.

I am back in the office now full time (mostly anyway) So I might be able to go through some pictures and throw something together. Kenzie is balking at the responsibility of doing a report. Lame!

I'm sure she's intimidated by the process of going through all five million photos she took in order to compile a ride report. :D

That was the idea on a few occasions. We'll see. It'll be hard to narrow it down to the entry limit.

Tell her to puke the photos up and we'll let the storytime pass (and remind her next time you might be hauling a passenger that wants to do a RR) :)

Checking in to say that I've read the intro and I've watched the videos, and I'm totally subscribed. Will dig into the prose more when I have some time to sit and enjoy it.

The videos are stupendous!! I've got to learn how to do some of that.

On programming note: I was going to compliment you on what appears to be expert clutch-less shifting, but then it occurred to me that on your FJR, Yamaha has taken care of that for you!! (dumb ass Pants)

Thanks! Happy to know the videos are appreciated. You'll note when you read the report that while you weren't there, you have at least two mentions in the report. :D

Technically, it's not clutchless, just leverless. ;)

After reading my bit about Guanella pass, a member on another forum told me to go do a google search for "Elephant ride Guanella pass." I assure you, you will not be disappointed in the amazing exploits of a bunch of idiots on motorcycles in the dead of winter.
