This weekend I had phones, wive's purse, wallet, Camera, iPad.... all in the Storm Case and didn't like walking away from it. So I decided to add the extra lock that came with bike to try to lock up the Pelican using the same keys. I had to machine a bushing to go over lock because it was designed for that plastic cylinder thing on the saddle bags and I assume the Yamaha Top case.
I held my breath, drilled a Giant hole in the storm case... Used 1-1/2 x 1-1/2 inch aluminum angle for the Lid Lock piece, cut off to fit behind the lock. It turned out really well. I like it. Hasp has two screws in it now. that was just during trial...
Used waterproof Pop Rivets to hold the lid piece on. all in all a good mod for me. Locks down pretty tight. Now go home and loctite the screws on the lock.... or you will lose the lock.

Re: I decided to lock up my Pelican
Very Nice, and now if you lock your keys in, you can drill out the rivets.

Re: I decided to lock up my Pelican
for my pelican, which has the same two outboard lock holes, i use the brass master locks (standard size shank) where you set your own 4 digit code.
no key needed, plus resists prying from the edges.

Re: I decided to lock up my Pelican
I have purchased 4 locks for that damn thing. I keep getting stuff out, then losing them. Most of them are on a road in the middle of nowhere,,, somewhere.wpbfjr wrote:for my pelican, which has the same two outboard lock holes, i use the brass master locks (standard size shank) where you set your own 4 digit code.
