New to here
Hello, Some of my Florida friends were saying to join this forum so here I am. Some of you may know me by forum name maybe, and I've met others along the way the last 10 yrs or so since I got my '09A. I now have a '18A and still getting used to it.
I live in Mims, FL, central near KSC, Daytona, east of Orlando. I hope to see you all down the road somewhere.
Later, Jim in MIms

Re: New to here
I've explored a fair amount of Western Canada and love riding up there. Not too much in the east but it's on the list!
I grew up in Michigan so since I was 18 and joined the military (USN) I was on a mission to live in warmer climates. I lived in San Diego after I got out the first time, then came here for a job at KSC that lasted 22 yrs while also finishing my USN career in the reserves out of Orlando and Mayport NS, FL.

Welcome, used to live in that area. From Tampa mostly but lived in Melbourne and worked on Merritt Island. Did my reserve duty (USMC) in Orlando as well.

I’d be more than happy to swear under oath that having watched you ride for many, many miles, there is no way in hell you could be speeding through those curves. -0face

Welcome from the Land O Lincoln where our state employs former governors in the license plate manufacturing business.
Gonna be in your neck of woods in a few weeks. Headed to NSB right after XMas with the family. Got any food recommendations in the area? We will be right across the lagoons from Mims as we always stay way south by JB’s. Leas traffic down there.

Welcome. Met Jim up in Red Lodge the last time there. His bike was barely recognizable as an FJR. Thought maybe Patriot had shown up for the rally at first.

For NSB, my favorite all around bar restaurant is Merks: http://merksbarandgrill.com/Cav47 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2019 1:00 amWelcome from the Land O Lincoln where our state employs former governors in the license plate manufacturing business.

There are quite a few choices in NSB like Breakers (decent hamburgers and great view), Boston's Seafood is pretty good. There was a great little Italian sorta place in the Publix shopping center but they went belly up a few yrs ago. Shoot me a message when you get there and I'll ride up.

Re: New to here
I sold that one to Tony aka 101stPathfinder in his 100K yr quest. He's been going through parts and bikes and as mine had only 121K miles, it was still fresh for his needs! Mike, we also met at Taos way back in (?) '13 or so. That was a good run with Beemerdons and the crowd. I remember you had a Gen 1 and it was having valve issues.sacramentomike wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2019 7:07 pm Welcome. Met Jim up in Red Lodge the last time there. I now have an '18A I picked up new as a leftover. Only ~500 miles so far and no farkles! Let's see how long that lasts lol. Like I told you in Red Lodge when you said I had too much stuff on my bike - maybe you shouldn't do yours like that....
Hope to see you down the road.
