Best location to ty-wrap cam chain on crank??

OK. Naomi's (2013) cams need to come out. It's been more than 30 seconds since I lifted cams in the 2006 (KrZy8) and now I are cornfused.

When I lifted KrZy8 cams, the dowel pin for the rear tensioner came out. As such, I ty-wrapped like this... On the inside of the tensioner. And, later, I slipped a tooth, IIRC.


Looking at Yamafitters CCT replacement thread, he ty-wrapped like this... - around each tensioner.

My question is - If both tensioners get ty-wrapped per Yamafitter, is there adequate chain slack to lift the cams?

What's the best location to ty-wrap to ensure adequate slack and yet not slip a tooth?

I don't know nuttin, but when I watched griff do mine, he ziptied it up tight like fitters, and we didn't have an issue.

Dowel in the left tensioner, right tensioner will slide up. I do the KrZy8 method, zip the chain on the left, around the tensioner on the right, keep it low and close to the crank sprocket. If you slide the right tensioner up you can tighten more. You can also zip inside the right tensioner so you're just on the chain. Zip tie both cam sprockets in the hole, which should be at the top. Intake cam should roll out easily enough as that side has most of the slack. If'n it's tough to rollout the exhaust cam (with the intake cam in), cheat by gently rolling the crankshaft CCW about a smidge and you'll get a bit of slack for the exhaust. After exhaust cam is back in, smidge the crank back CW to line up your timing marks again.
