That'd be two good rides left in them.
Indeed.

Margin. Margin.

You can put YOUR margarine wherever you want to, so long as I'm not in the same state.

What's proper about paying more than you need to?
I'm cheap. But 10 twice a year for a quality oil filter as opposed to $2 Fram piece of shit.. well. I'm good with it.

I wish it was $10 here. And I wish the dealership was closer. No Fram either, just mobil 1 usually.

gixxerjasen,

https://www.amazon.com

They have 'most everything, and will deliver it to your place. Stock up!

Packages in the mail will feel about like Xmas, all year long.
You pay for it, sure, but then it's always something that you really want. 8-)
Cheers,

P.S. Life is too short, and health is too valuable, to ride on cheap parade-duty tires.
Yeah, I ride motorcycles. I know why dogs put their heads out of the car windows.
Yeah, I fly hang gliders (3000 hrs.+). I know why the birds sing.

Yea, but can I get the official Yamaha filter there?

Actually I often get my filters there. However, it's usually when my wife wants to go look at something boring in Walmart that I'm like "Oh yea, need to do an oil change on x bike. I'll be back" and off I go to pick up some Mobil 1 products. Not too much price difference between Amazon and Walmart for filters but it seems like oil is cheaper.

Rear brake pedal pivot was cleaned and lubed with lithium grease. Brake pedal down and up is smooth and free as can be. I've been experiencing a mushy brake pedal for some time due to some air in the brake line. Bled the front lower bleed port and then the rear. Hung a 25 lb dumbbell on the pedal overnight. Really nice firm rear brake pedal now. I don't use the rear brake all that much, but it bothered me that the travel was so long. The rear braking was poor to say the least. It's terrific now and I'm a happy camper.

Rode about 175 miles yesterday morning. Tom (new versys 1000LT) and I left at 6:30 am, and with a soaked T-shirt, it actually wasn't too hot until about 9:30. My back is probably 90% now, but it did stiffen up a little yesterday afternoon on the couch after lunch. I just can't get over how long this is taking to heal.

The ride was 15 miles longer than it needed to be because Tom ran out of gas. That makes 2 Versys 1000's that I've run out of gas with. The absolutely limit on that bike is 210 miles. Anything longer is on borrowed time. No big deal - I ran 7 miles to the nearest gas station, purchased a 1-gallon can ($13.00 - WOW!!!) and a gallon of fuel, rock strapped it to my pillion seat, and zipped 7 miles back to Tom. 20 minutes and we were on our way.

It's always an adventure. Always....

I have never run out of fuel on the FJR, but have on the old XS11 plenty of times. Good thing you were riding as a pair and one cpuld cove the other. I don't care which way you look, when you have to push a bike, it's always up hill.

Glad everything worked out.

This past weekend, rode it 500 miles to visit Mom, in the hospital at age 89 with appendicitis.

She's fine, thanks, and excited to be a semi-celebrity as the oldest appendectomy patient on record at her regional hospital.

Pants, next time you ride with a versys rider, have THEM strap that fuel can to THEIR back seat before you start off.

Me? Rode it to work. More importantly, rode it home. 101F on the way home and had to sit in traffic from a car accident. Tried bringing the camelbak to work with me. Filled it with crushed ice from the vending machine and cold water and darn near drank it all on the way home. It did make a huge difference on my recovery time when I got home. Might have to do this through the summer.
