Mark, as I'm certain you are aware, the Gen 3 shock comes with a stiffer spring then Gen 1 or 2. The Gen 3 shock we put into Festar's bike made a bit of difference, he could run on the soft setting even when loaded. When we were looking for a rear shock to get Festar back on the road the 15 and 16 shocks were less expensive than the 13 as I recall.
